For this pattern I have used the same graphic from the last post but this time I will be making the pattern myself instead of letting Illustrator create the grid. I have made an intricate design with many colors and it still is working great as a pattern since every other graphic has the same colors.
First you make one graphic and then from this graphic you copy and paste it. From this pasted graphic you can change the colors and the size but make sure to keep the size ratio. After you have these two different sized graphics you can start making a grid. The secret to making this work is using the ruler and guides in Illustrator to make sure you are placing things in the correct spot. Always make sure that you are spacing everything evenly and make sure to use the calculator to figure out where to put your smart guides if needed.
